The Typhoon was a troublesome aircraft from the beginning, and not for novices. The powerful, sophisticated Napier Sabre engine, coupled the enormous 14-foot propeller, created tremendous torque on takeoff and required a smooth, steady hand at all times. This aircraft can lift a lot of ordnance and deliver it with exceptional lethality, but serves best in a ground attack and support role, as its performance at high altitudes is poor.
